 China has the resources of minerals, which create a growing economy, good prospects, but they have no funds for necessary investments, which inhibits the exploitation of those resources. Many Chinese coal mines lack of modern machinery, oil production in the future will be expensive and a lot of valuable mineral resources yet to be discovered (especially interesting to predict the likely deposit in the icy wastes of the Tibetan plateau). China likely will have recourse to the west, to begin operating oilfields in Xinjiang province, and complete construction of the world's largest hydroelectric power plant.
In the past, China's greatest asset, people were no doubt, but today the scale of population growth has become a serious concern.
